Products, customers and past orders can move; reviews and customer passwords cannot; products with more than three options need rework; every old URL with traffic needs a redirect. The biggest cost surprise is usually plugins that become paid Shopify apps.

Squarespace to Shopify: the carry-over checklist
Products, customers and past orders can move with some cleanup; page layouts, reviews and customer passwords do not carry over. Plan the domain move separately if Squarespace is also your registrar, and redirect every old store and blog URL.

Basic vs Grow vs Advanced: the fee math at your sales volume
On monthly billing, Grow costs less than Basic once online card sales pass about $33,000 a month, and Advanced costs less than Grow past about $147,000. On yearly billing the crossovers come sooner: about $25,000 and $110,000.

How a Shopify store built for you is handed over
Your store is built in a client transfer store, which stays private until launch. When it is ready, you get a transfer email, accept it within seven days, choose your plan and add your own billing. After that the store and the Shopify account are yours.

When not to move your store to Shopify
Moving platforms costs money and carries some search-traffic risk. Stay put, or wait, if your current store already does what you need, if you are heading into your busy season, or if the move would depend on paid apps or custom work to replace something you have today.
