Where the store is built
Shopify partners can create client transfer stores: stores built on a client's behalf and handed over when they are ready to go live. While we build, the store stays password-protected and cannot take real payments. Test orders run through Shopify's test mode instead. Nothing is public until the store is yours.
What happens on transfer day
- We send the transfer to the email address you give us.
- You receive an email from Shopify asking you to accept the store.
- You accept, choose your Shopify plan, and enter your own billing details.
- From that moment the store is yours, and Shopify bills you directly.
The transfer expires after seven days if nobody accepts it. We book a short call for transfer day so it doesn't sit in an inbox.
What you keep and what we keep
You own the store and the account. We keep collaborator access so we can finish launch work and support you afterwards. You can remove that access at any time from your store settings.
The trade-off versus starting your own trial
If you open a store yourself, Shopify usually offers a trial (on October 5, 2026 the pricing page said "Try 3 days free, then $1/month for 3 months"). A transferred store is not eligible for promotions or free trials, so your plan price starts when you accept the transfer.
What you get in exchange: a development store costs you nothing while we build it, however long the build takes, and you don't start paying until the store is ready to sell. If your build will be short and you want the trial pricing, tell us. We can work inside a store you create instead, and we'll explain what changes.
How the builder may be paid (plainly)
When a store built in a client transfer store moves to a paid plan, Shopify may pay the business that built it a referral share of the subscription and a small share of online sales for a limited period. The subscription share is a percentage, so it is larger on higher plans. It comes from Shopify, not from you, and it does not change your price. We disclose it in every proposal and show you the fee math so the plan choice is yours.
